WHY CAN'T I SEE A CRACKLE PATTERN?
To ensure a good crackle pattern, make sure all porous surfaces are
first sealed with a primer. Plasti-Kote
Sandable Primer is ideal because it dries quickly, sands
easily and allows you to quickly continue with the Cracklin' Finish
base and topcoats. It is important to spray 3-4 heavy basecoats.
When applying the topcoat, the can should be held only 6-8 inches
from the object. This is much closer than applying a typical spray
paint application, so be careful not to get too close in order
to avoid runs and sags.
HOW DO I REMOVE THIS PRODUCT AND START OVER?
If you are going to use the Cracklin' Finish again, there is no need
to remove the current coating. Begin again by applying several basecoats
over the original top coat, allow to dry, and apply the topcoat
following the same instructions as stated above.
HOW DO I GET THIS TO WORK?
Most problems occur when the surface that is being painted is not properly
sealed. All porous surfaces must be sealed in order for the crackle
effect to occur.
