WHY DOESN'T MY PROJECT MATCH THE COLOR OF THE CAP?
It might be that too much background color of the object being painted
is coming through. Apply a coordinating color to the object before
applying the Fleck Stone Basecoat. This is especially helpful
when painting a large object. Several lighter coats are preferable
to heavy coats otherwise the Fleck Stone becomes thick and heavy
looking, and could possibly cover some of the details of the item
being painted.
WHY DIDN'T I GET THE ENTIRE PROJECT COVERED?
Fleck
Stone Basecoat is not your standard spray paint. The average coverage
for a can is as little 5 square feet to as much as 20 square feet,
depending on the background color and the amount of textured effect
you desire. The closer the background color is to the Fleck Stone
Basecoat, the greater the coverage per can of Fleck Stone.
WHY DOES THE COLOR LOOK LIGHT IN SOME SPOTS AND DARK IN OTHER AREAS?
Fleck Stone Basecoat needs to be applied evenly over the entire surface.
Shake the can at one minute intervals to maintain th color consistency
and remember that several light coats are preferable to one heavy
coat.
DO I HAVE TO USE A PRIMER COAT BEFORE I USE FLECK STONE?
A primer coat is not necessary, but some items benefit from a primer
because of their porous surfaces. Keep in mind, if your object to
be painted is large, begin first with a multi-purpose in a comparable
shade to the Fleck Stone Basecoat to cover the surface. Then apply
the Fleck Stone for texture and interest as opposed to coverage.
